The Michigan Chronicle and its sister company Real Times Media are “sounding the alarm” by launching a health and fitness initiative that is designed to “give the gift of life”. We want to combat the health crisis that has resulted in the rising rate of obesity and other unhealthy habits that lead to cardiovascular disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.
With on-going citywide workouts, health seminars, prize giveaways
and promotions, we plan to showcase the progress made by those
participating in the challenge. We have the support of a number of
sponsors and well-known faces in the metro-Detroit area: Mayor Kwame
Kilpatrick, Alan Lee, Charles Pugh and Florine Mark to name a few.
We
are committed to changing lives for the better, even if it is one at a
time. Our hope is that you will join us and our other program partners
in this critical and worthwhile effort to redirect people to living a
healthy lifestyle.
As the year progresses we will be adding healthy fitness tips and suggestions. Please take a look at our articles and gallery of events. The galleries are updated for every public event.
